WORCESTER – The Worcester Police Department [WPD] are investigating multiple gun shots at the Bancroft Tower parking lot on Sunday.

According to the WPD, officers were told by several witnesses that shots were fired from a blue colored vehicle at a silver Infiniti that was parked facing a stone wall in the parking lot. The vehicles were occupied by several people.

The blue vehicle was heading north on Massachusetts Ave after the shots were fired. The Infiniti went in the other direction.

WPD officers sealed off the lot until the Crime Scene Unit arrived and recovered evidence. Officers found ballistic evidence in the lot. Calls to local hospital resulted in zero gun related injuries.

The WPD searched for both vehicles and were able to find only the Infiniti one hour after the incident occurred. The Infiniti had several bullet holes in it. The vehicle was processed for evidence after detectives spoke with the owner.

After interviewing the owner of the Infiniti and the owner witnesses, detectives have determined that this was not a random act of violence.
