WORCESTER – A Worcester Police officer on patrol early Wednesday morning thwarted an armed robbery at Honey Farms on West Boylston St.

According to the WPD, just before 4 AM an officer was on patrol in the West Boylston St. area and conducted a check on the Honey Farms at 872 West Boylston St, which had just been robbed on March 20.

When the officer arrived, she observed 38-year-old Daniel Bain of 830 West Boylston St #14, behind the register with his face covered. The officer witnessed Bain pulling money out of one of the registers and was using a knife to pry open a second register.

The officer called the armed robbery in progress in and entered the store. Bain advanced on the officer while yielding his knife. The officer pointed her firearm at him and told him to get on the ground. Bain put his hands up and surrendered. He was put in handcuffs and sent to the station.

After review of video of Wednesday’s armed robbery, and the robbery that occurred on March 20, Bain was identified in both videos. Bain was charged with two counts of Armed Robbery While Masked, and one count of Defacement of Property (register.) He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
