WORCESTER – The extremely popular Ziggy Bombs specialty steak and cheese subs food truck plans to open its first brick-and-mortar this fall on Franklin Street.
In an interview early Thursday morning, Ziggy Bombs owner Mike Devish said he’s hoping to open the restaurant by the end of September, but there’s construction that needs to be done and city permits he’s still waiting on.
Ziggy Bombs will take the entire first floor store front space at 76 Franklin St., which includes 72, 74, and 78 Franklin St. Devish plans to hire at least a dozen people to work at the location and expects to be open at least six days a week.
Along with a full restaurant space, Devish is also opening a Ziggy Bombs merchandise store to sell t-shirts, hats and more.
Devish took to social media on Tuesday to tease the announcement of his new restaurant and a photo of the keys to the Franklin St. building received thousands of likes, shares and congratulatory comments from Ziggy Bombs followers.
Already this year, Ziggy Bomb opened his first food truck and launched a line of sodas, “Ziggy Pop.”
The Ziggy Bombs food truck will continue to book for parties, festivals and more even after the restaurant is open.
