DUDLEY - Dudley Police and Fire responded to Route 197, around 75 West Main Street, for a report of a two-car crash at around 7:20 AM on Friday, September 3.

At the scene, officers found a 2015 Ford Explorer off of road and a 20211 Chevrolet Malibu in the road. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.

A 54-year-old woman was driving the Explorer, travelling eastbound. She received treatment at the scene of the crash and released. A 20-year-old man from Worcester was driving the Malibu, travelling westbound. EMS transported him to UMass Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is unknown.

Dudley Police did not release the name of the operator of either vehicle. Both were the sole occupant of each vehicle.

The initial investigation indicates the collision took place in the eastbound lane. No charges against either driver were announced as of around noon on Friday.

The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Unit and Dudley Police continue the investigation.

West Main Street was detoured this morning until shortly after 9 AM.
