WEBSTER – A stolen car located by Webster Police on Sunday, May 10, led to a high-speed chase on Thompson and Gore Rd and the arrest of David Hallaman, a 29-year-old man from Webster.

The vehicle, reported stolen in Connecticut early in the day on Sunday, was first spotted by an officer in Webster just before 10 PM.

While reporting the location of the vehicle for assistance from other officers, the driver began quickly picking up speed on Thompson Rd. Another Webster patrol unit arrived at the scene and both attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

According to the officers, the stolen vehicle reached over 100 miles-per-hour before they discontinued pursuit.

Officers continued onto Gore Rd. and found the vehicle crashed near the intersection of Lower Gore Rd. and Upper Gore Rd. The occupants of the vehicle had fled on foot.

Dudley Police provided coverage for calls in Webster while departments from Douglas, Oxford, a K9 unit from Hopkinton and the Massachusetts State Police assisted in the search.

While the search was ongoing, an incoming call from a Rawson Rd. residence reported a strange man on their porch. Hallaman was arrested there with what police believe was a small amount of cocaine.

The investigation is ongoing into whether Hallman was the driver of the vehicle.

Hallaman was treated at Harrington Hospital in Webster and released into police custody. He faces charges of Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Class B Substance and Breaking and Entering.
