WORCESTER – Four officers with the WPD K9 Unit received Certifications from the North American Police Work Dog Association [NAPWDA] last week in Cranston, RI.
Sgt. Timothy Watts & K9 Django, Police Officer Thomas Bishop & K9 Elmar, Police Officer Mark Jolin & K9 Elvis 2.0, and Police Officer Daniel Pennellatore & K9 Beebs all certified as Police Utility Dogs.

This certification requires meeting high standards in the following areas: Obedience, Article Searches, Area Searches, Tracking, Building Searches, and Aggression Control.
Additionally, Police Officer Mark Jolin & K9 Elvis 2.0 and Police Officer Daniel Pennellatore & K9 Beebs were certificated as: Narcotics Detection Teams.
