Worcester Red Sox Release Ticket Manifest and Polar Park

The Worcester Red Sox released the seating manifest as well as the ballpark’s initial capacity.

The capacity for baseball at the year-round park at its opening, including seats, berms, and standing room, will be 9,508.

The number ending in 508 is “tip of the cap” to the 508 area code, according to the Worcester Red Sox.

AG Healey Announces $130k in Grants for Nonprofits

Attorney General Maura Healey announced on Wednesday, September 16, that her office has awarded more than $130,000 in grant funding to several nonprofit service providers for investments in job training, skill development, and career placement programs for individuals with disabilities.

Healey’s office created the Enabling Employment Opportunities grant program to help service providers and charitable organizations fund educational opportunities for individuals with developmental and other disabilities.

Bike to Break the Cycle 2020

YWCA of Central Massachusetts is conducting a fund raiser and asking for people to take part in biking or spinning for 135 minutes between Friday, September 25, and Saturday, October 3.

The 135 of riding can be done all at once, broken up over the week or split among team members.

Registration fee for each rider is $25. Everyone who raises a minimum of $100 receives a commemorative t-shirt.

100% of the net proceeds from the Bike to Break the Cycle supports YWCA programming, including victim services and community education.

Baker Urges Residents to get the Flu Vaccination

Governor Charlie Baker urges residents to get the flu shot to prevent the spread of flu and to ease the strain on healthcare systems caring for people with COVID-19.

Baker said, “If more people are vaccinated against the flu, this will not only help reduce the spread of flu but also the impact of flu-related illness on healthcare facilities, resources and staff involved in the treatment of COVID-19.
