The EcoTarium is asking everyone to fill out a reopening survey to help the nature and science museum make certain decisions in their reopening plan.

The survey takes about 10 minutes or less to complete and by completing the survey you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to the EcoTarium Gift Shop.

Country Bank, Worcester Chamber Announce Small Business Scholarships

Country Bank has partnered with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce to offer a scholarship program for small businesses in Worcester.

Scholarship funds will cover Chamber of Commerce membership dues for one full year, provide members-only access to critical resources, programming, and the opportunity to attend various activities through the Chamber.

Additionally, the selected businesses of the scholarship will have a chance to promote their company on the Chamber’s Radio Program [WCRN] with Hank Stoltz, and have their organization spotlighted through the social media platforms of both the Chamber and Country Bank.

The popular — and hysterical — Valentine’s Day Conversation Cookies from Crust Bakeshop are now available for that special [or not so special] person in your life.

Worcester Chamber Music Society to Host Their First ‘Talk’

On Thursday, February 11, the Worcester Chamber Music Society will introduce its new WCMS Talks series with a live presentation by WCMS cellist David Russell.

Russell will present “Renewed Strength: Beethoven’s Heiliger Dankgesang in the Age of COVID.” (“Holy Thanksgiving” from String Quartet, Op. 132) Russell will provide historical context and speak more generally about health care and the arts, and how one informs the other. He will also talk about some programs going on right now that illustrate this phenomenon in our current terrifying moment.

Study Shows Worcester Among Unhealthiest Cities in U.S.

On Monday, WalletHub released its report on 2021’s Healthiest & Unhealthiest Cities in America and the City of Worcester is ranked among the more unhealthy cities in the country.

WalletHub compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 44 key metrics, including data set ranges from the cost of a medical visit to fruit and vegetable consumption to COVID-19 cases.

Overall, Worcester ranked #124 out of the 182 cities studied, scoring poorly in the Fitness category, which includes the number of adults engaging in physical activity and the number of fitness centers per capita.
