Registration Open for Worcester DPW and Parks Wachusett Mountain Ski and Snowboard Program
Registration is now open for the Worcester DPW and Parks Wachusett Mountain Ski and Snowboard program.
The program starts on January 9 and will run every Sunday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The cost of the eight-week program is $151. Lessons and rentals are extra.
The program is open to kids in grade 3 or higher.

Kelley Square Tree Lighting Extravaganza is Saturday
The annual Kelley Square tree lighting returns this Saturday with plenty of fanfare.
The event will run from 2 PM to 5 PM in the parking lot of Vietnamese Cuisine on Millbury Street (facing Kelley Square). Free coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, empanadas, pizza, gifts, giveaways and more will be provided.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance, there will be free horse drawn carriage rides and carolers will be singing.
The tree will be lit at 5 PM.
Webster Public Schools Hosting Free Vaccine Clinic on Tuesday
The Webster Public Schools will be hosting a free vaccine clinic with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for students ages 5 to 12 on Tuesday.
The clinic will take place from 4 PM to 7:30 PM at the Park Avenue elementary school library. Walk-ins are welcome.
Second doses will be scheduled for Tuesday, December 21 from 12 PM to 4 PM.
Nine Local Police Departments to Host Gun Buyback Day
The 20th Annual Goods for Gun Buyback will be held on Saturday, December 11 and nine local police departments will be participating.
Police departments in Auburn, Barre, Dudley, Fitchburg, Leominster, Northborough, Northbridge, Spencer and Worcester will all take part in the annual event. All departments except for Worcester will host their Gun Buyback from 10 AM to 2 PM. Worcester Police will hold theirs from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Anyone that turns in an operable gun will receive a grocery gift card: $25 for a rifle, $50 for a pistol and $75 for an automatic or semi-automatic.
Police will also be giving away gun locks to anyone who needs it.
All guns brought in must be unloaded and wrapped or contained in a bag.
