Nearly 500 representatives from the manufacturing community in Massachusetts will come together with public sector and academic leaders at the first-ever Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up today — Tuesday, September 28 — at Polar Park in Worcester from 9 AM to 5 PM.

The event will also feature a startup pitch competition.

The event will also play host to the 6th Annual Massachusetts Legislative Manufacturing Caucus Awards, which will feature awards to manufacturers from across the Commonwealth, and the announcement of the Jack Healy Leadership Award, an annual award handed out by MassMEP to “recognize excellence…within manufacturing companies and individual manufacturing leaders, that are shaping the future of global manufacturing.”

Gas Prices Stay Flat this Week in Massachusetts

AAA Northeast reports changes in gas prices across the region on a weekly basis.

Massachusetts’s average gas price is the same as last week, averaging $3.10 per gallon. That price is five cents higher than a month ago ($3.05), and 99 cents higher than September 20, 2020 ($2.11).

Massachusetts’s average gas price is eight cents lower than the national average.

“Consumers should see the usual autumn relief at the pump,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public Affairs. “But factor in that approximately 16% of crude production in the Gulf of Mexico is still shut down because of Hurricanes Ida and Nicholas and the concerns about what higher COVID cases could do to the economy, and this uncertainty is helping to keep oil prices elevated.”

AAA Northeast’s September 27  survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be one cent lower than last week, averaging $3.18 a gallon. Today’s national average price is four cents higher than a month ago (3.14) and $1.00 higher than this day last year ($2.18).

Comparison to neighboring states, according to AAA Northeast:

Region Current Price One Week Ago One Month Ago One Year Ago
Massachusetts $3.10 $3.10 $3.05 $2.11
Rhode Island $3.07 $3.08 $3.06 $2.14
Connecticut $3.20 $3.20 $3.17 $2.19
