Worcester Public Schools Remote Learning Summer STEM Program

Worcester Public Schools announces a virtual hands-on STEM summer program: Camp Invention. Every student who participates receives a boxed Science project to complete during the week. Students will have access to online Science instruction as well as direct contact with teachers to help in project completion.

The all day program runs August 2 to August 6 and August 9 to August 13.

Historic Worcester Baseball Online Event

The Worcester Historical Museum continues its look at the history of baseball in Worcester on Wednesday, July 21 at 7 PM.

This online event includes historian Bill Ballou, Dr. Janette Greenwood, and retired National Park Service Ranger Chuck Arning. Attendees will learn about local baseball from the post-Worcesters era to the present. Local teams, and industrial teams throughout the Valley, and much more.

The event is free but registration is required.

Tips for National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month

Vehicle theft is at its highest during the summer months and July is National Vehicle Prevention Month.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that nearly 44 percent of stolen vehicles are not recovered. It provides the following tips to prevent vehicle theft:

  • Park in will lit areas
  • Put away valuables
  • Lock doors and windows
  • Do not leave keys in your vehicles
  • Never leave your vehicle while its running

Wachusett Country Club Schedules Annual Charity Classic

The Wachusett Charity Classic to raise money for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation is scheduled for Oct. 4. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is a non-profit supporting cancer patients and their families living in New England.

The tournament will be played at both Wachusett Country Club and Kettle Brook Country Club.
