A new study ranks the top 500 colleges and universities across the United States and included 21 higher education institutions in Massachusetts. The top 11 ranked Massachusetts schools, along with their overall rank in the study, are:

- College of the Holy Cross – 65

Impressively, those eleven colleges and universities are in the top 93 percentile of all schools in the country.
The College of the Holy Cross is the only institution represented in the study in Worcester County. The next closest to Worcester, Framingham State University, ranked 345th in the country.
The study compared 1000 institutions of higher education across 30 key measures grouped into seven categories to determine its rankings. Within those categories, Holy Cross ranked:
