Abandoned BMW in Grafton Leads to Multi-Agency Investigation

GRAFTON – A man and a juvenile from Brooklyn, NY were arrested in Grafton on Tuesday, beginning an investigation that now includes police in Shrewsbury, Boston, and New York City.

A Grafton Police sergeant on patrol arpimd 4:30 AM on Tuesday, March 29, located a BWM which appeared to be abandoned near the Mass Pike overpass on Worcester Street. The vehicle identification number revealed a New York owner reported the vehicle stolen in Shrewsbury.

Additional units provided support to the surrounding area in search of potential suspects.

Another officer located two individuals running on Worcester Street, a short distance from where the BMW was found.

According to the Grafton Police Department, the officer reported that both suspects were evasive during questioning.  After additional support arrived, officers discovered one suspect had a BMW key fob in his possession. After police determined both suspects provided false names,  police transported them to the Grafton Police Department.

At the police station, officers discovered revealed the suspects had several key fobs in their possession, including for BMW, Porche and Lamborghini models. The investigation revealed that key fobs were linked to a break-in at a Boston car dealership the previous night.

The Grafton Police Department is coordinating with departments in Shrewsbury, Boston, and New York City on the investigation.

After police accurately identified the suspects, they learned one was a juvenile.

Moustapha Sene, 19, of Brooklyn, NY faces charges of:

  • Receiving Stolen Property over $1200
  • Providing Fale ID Information to Law Enforcement

The juvenile, also of Brooklyn, faces charges of:

  • Receiving Stolen Property over $1200
  • Receiving Stolen Property under $1200
  • Providing Fale ID Information to Law Enforcement
  • Possession of Burglarious Instruments
  •  Being a Fugitive from Justice (NY)
