ABCC Increases Number of Worcester Package Store Licenses

WORCESTER – The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has increased the city’s quota for each category of package store licenses by five.

The increase is because of Worcester’s population growth following the 2020 Census. The city now has a total of 42 all alcohol and 42 malt & wine licenses available as of 2022.

The Worcester License Commission is now accepting applications for Section 15 all-alcohol license by Aug. 23. An initial round of public hearings will start in September.

Once all applications received by August 23 have been heard, the License Commission will issue licenses from among the group of applicants.

Prospective applicants may direct questions to [email protected] or 508-799-1400 ext. 31437.
