WORCESTER – Worcester Police are warning residents about a scam involving individuals stating they work for a utility company and the Department of Public Works to gain access to local homes.

On November 2, three males in a dark colored SUV told residents they needed access to their home to check the pipes. After the individuals left, the homeowners noticed money and jewelry missing.

All residents should be aware that anyone working for a utility company or the city would have an official identification.

Worcester Police detectives are asking anyone with information about this scam to contact magarianjj at worcesterma.gov.
