WORCESTER – Police responded to a report of an armed robbery of an individual near Main Street and Benefit Street, leading to the arrest of a local woman.
Police arrived at the scene at around 6 AM on Wednesday. The victim reported he was driving on Main Street and heard a woman cry for help. When he stopped to speak with the woman, she brandished a knife and demanded money. The man handed over the money he had in his pocket.
The man provided a description of the woman, which included bright red hair.
Officers located Angelic Berry, 32, of Worcester, who matched the description, on Oread Street.
According to the Worcester Police Department, as officers attempted to arrest Berry, she tensed up, resisted being put in handcuffs, and refused to get into a police vehicle.
Berry faces charges of Armed Robbery and Resisting Arrest.
