WORCESTER – A search warrant being executed by Massachusetts State Police at a Harding St. apartment on Wednesday, September 9, led to the discovery of bomb-making materials and Harding St. closed for several hours.

David Dolan, 38, and Weah Wisner, 33, both of Worcester, were arrested on Tuesday, September 8, and face weapons and drug charges.

Their arrests led to a search warrant of a fourth floor apartment at 85 Harding St.

Soon after Massachusetts State Police Detectives began the execution of the warrant on Wednesday morning, investigators called a halt to the search.

Investigators located what appeared to be bomb-making materials inside the apartment.

Law enforcement officials evacuated the building while Harding St. was closed and remained closed for the next several hours.

The Massachusetts Joint HAZMAT Incident Response Team and several State Police units were called to the scene, including Crime Scene Services, the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, the Firearms Identification Section and the Special Tactical Operations.

Worcester Police, the Worcester Fire Department and EMTs were also called to the scene.

Dolan has an existing warrant home invasion and illegal possession of a firearm. He is being held without bail pending a hearing on those charges.

The state is expected to file a motion for dangerousness on Dolan’s new charges, which asks the court to hold the defendant without bail until trial.

Dolan has not yet been arraigned.

Wisner is being held on $10,000 bail after being arraigned today. He faces charges of:

  • Trafficking Cocaine
  • Distributing Cocaine (subsequent offense)
  • Two counts of Carrying a Firearm without a License,
  • Two counts of Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
  • Possession of a firearm while committing a felony
