Leominster Man Indicted for Murder in July Stabbing

WORCESTER – A Worcester County Grand Jury indicted a man for murder in a fatal stabbing in Fitchburg.

Jeremy Cruz, 37, of Leominster, allegedly stabbed Jesus Maisonet Davila, 45, of Fitchburg on July 1, shortly before 1 PM, near 199 Main St. in Fitchburg. Davila was hospitalized until his death on Aug. 6.

Cruz has been in custody since his arraignment in Fitchburg District Court on July 3. He was arraigned on charges of Armed Assault to Murder and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury. Following Davila’s death, Cruz was charged with murder in Fitchburg District Court.

The indictment moves the case to Worcester Superior Court. Cruz is expected to be arraigned there on May 1.
