DOUGLAS – A joint operation by the Douglas Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) seized 100 pounds of marijuana on Monday, June 10.
According to the Douglas Police Department, its officers and partner agencies served a search warrant at around 6 AM on Makowski Drive. The marijuana growing operation included an abandoned home and several building on the property.
The search discovered 185 plants in various stages of growth and over 100 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale.
The location also had a laboratory, according to police. Inside, officers located commercial grade butane, ethanol, and numerous other chemicals used to extract THC from the plant to create oils, edibles, and other products.
Police say the estimated value of the products seized is over $400,000.
The Douglas Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and expects charges filed once it is completed.
