WORCESTER – The Worcester Department of Public Works and Parks [DPW] announced on Thursday, November 18, the extension of fall leaf collection efforts throughout the city.
The announcement cited an unseasonably wet summer leading to leaves falling later in the season than is typical as cause for the extension.
DWP plans to deploy street sweepers in December, starting along the route with Wednesday trash pickup, to collect remaining leaves. It will attend additional routes in order of priority.
The department also announced that yard waste disposal sites will remain open as long as possible.
Worcester yard waste drop off sites are at:
- 1065 Millbury Street
- Hours: Wednesday, 8:30 AM to 7 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 4 PM.
- 300 Chandler Street (Across from Foley Stadium)
- Hours: Wednesday 8:30 AM to 4 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM
- 299 Clark Street (Near the East Mountain Street intersection)
