WORCESTER – Femme, the only lesbian bar in New England and one of just 25 nationwide, opens at 62 Green St. in Worcester on Friday at 4 PM.
The bar is queer female owned and operated and intended as a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community, their friends and allies.
Femme owners Julie and Danielle Spring say they intend Femme as a space where those in the queer community can eat, drink, socialize, as well as be open, authentic, and safe.
The location, previously the home of Buck’s Whiskey and Burger Bar, features hot pink and black ambience with features from local artists and makers. A queer book club, drag shows, live music, and game nights, all featuring LGBTIA+ performers and hosts are planned in the future.
