Five Juveniles Arrested in Auburn with Loaded Weapons After Police Chase in Worcester

WORCESTER – Five male juveniles were arrested in Auburn early Sunday morning following a police chase that started on Grafton Street in Worcester.

Three loaded handguns were found in the vehicle.

According to the Worcester Police Department, around 1:10 AM, an officer on patrol near Winter Street and Green Street recognized a white Ford Explorer, which was part of another shooting investigation, driving up Grafton Street.

The officer called for backup and followed the vehicle before activating the police cruiser lights near 263 Grafton St. in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

Police say the driver of the SUV drove away at a high rate of speed up Grafton Street and was driving recklessly on Massassoit Road when police gave up their pursuit.

Millbury Police began pursuing the vehicle on Rt. 20 toward Auburn. Around 1:50 AM, Worcester Police received word from Auburn Police the vehicle had been stopped. Officers from Auburn, Millbury, Oxford, Worcester and the Massachusetts State Police were on scene.
The five male juveniles were removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest and are facing serious charges in connection with the firearms. In addition, the driver is charged with Operating to Endanger, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and other motor vehicle charges.
