Worcester’s Board of Health to Hold Public Hearing on Dispensary Hours

A public hearing will be held next Monday, Feb. 3 at the City’s public health building at 25 Meade St. at 6:30 PM.

The hearing will allow public comment on the City’s board of health’s proposal to extend the hours for marijuana dispensaries to 8 AM to 11 PM Monday thru Saturday and 10 AM to 11 PM on Sundays.

Maker to Main to Open Next Week in Downtown Worcester

A wholesale market has set its sights on an opening date of Friday, February 7.

Maker to Main, formerly Lettuce Be Local, will soon open to the public in downtown Worcester, selling “carefully crafted and curated foods from local goods and makers.”

The store is located at 328 Main St. 

 

  

Worcester Railers to Host ‘American Cancer Society Night’

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Worcester Railers HC will host “American Cancer Society Night” during its game against the Adirondack Thunder.

Tickets are $20 each and include a hat and a $5 donation to the American Cancer Society.

Groups will have the chance to be in the high-five line, be bench warmers or have a post-game photo opportunity. Plus, there will be a fun stationary bike race during the game. 

 

NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament Returning to DCU Center

The NCAA has once again awarded the Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Northeast Regional to the City of Worcester for the 2020 season. 

And it’s right around the corner. Tickets are on sale now

The bid to host was submitted by the College of the Holy Cross, the ASM-managed DCU Center and Discover Central Massachusetts.

The tournament’s Northeast regionals, hosted by College of the Holy Cross, will take place March 27-28, and will mark the sixth time that Holy Cross has hosted, having previously hosted from 2008-2018.

Bull Mansion, which had its liquor license seized in September for nonpayment of meals taxes, has been sold to a Rhode Island company.

The historic property at 55 Pearl St. was sold to Arkland LLC for $1,160,000 in a deal that closed on Thursday, according to records on file with the Worcester Register of Deeds. Arkland, a Johnston, R.I. company, also owns property in Auburn and Oxford.
