WORCESTER, Mass. — Thrive Support & Advocacy and the Worcester Red Sox are joining forces to celebrate “Thrive Night” at Polar Park on Tuesday night, Aug. 29. The event honors disability advocates and generate support for the Flourish at Thrive food pantry.

Thrive’s Self-Advocates Group will receive recognition during pre-game ceremonies as the WooSox host the Norfolk Tides. Attendees are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to Flourish at Thrive. Volunteers from Definitive Healthcare will collect the donations at the DCU Common before the game kicks off.

A portion of ticket sales made through a specific link will also go to benefit the food pantry, the WooSox announced.

Sean Rose, President and CEO of Thrive, expressed gratitude for the community support. “The individuals in our Self-Advocates Group are excellent ambassadors for Thrive. This partnership with the WooSox and Polar Park allows us to reach a wider audience and showcase our programs,” said Rose.

The Self-Advocates Group, composed of 15 members, convenes monthly to focus on advocacy and activities that promote community inclusion, skill-building, independence, and self-confidence. Last year, the group spearheaded projects including a non-perishable food drive that helped deliver Thanksgiving baskets to over 100 families in Marlborough.

Opened in the fall of 2022, the Flourish at Thrive food pantry caters to the unique needs of those served by Thrive. Beyond offering typical non-perishable food items like canned fruits, soups, and pasta, the pantry also stocks allergen-free and specialized dietary options.
