Four Straight Days of Rain in Forecast for Worcester Area

WORCESTER – The tail end of April School Vacation will be a wet one.

According to the National Weather Service [NWS], Worcester is in for four straight days of rain beginning Thursday afternoon and lasting through Sunday morning.

The heaviest of the rain will fall Friday evening into late Saturday night.

From the National Weather Service: 

Thursday: A chance of showers, mainly between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers or drizzle after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Showers or drizzle likely, mainly before 7pm. Patchy fog before 2am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 54 by 5am. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: Patchy drizzle with a chance of showers before 9am, then showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 65. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog after 1am. Low around 59. South wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 7am. High near 65. South wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Saturday Night: Showers. Patchy fog after 2am. Low around 49. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Sunday: A chance of showers before 3pm. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. South wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
