SHREWSBURY – A vehicle crash in Shrewsbury led to the arrest of a man on several charges.
Police responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Hartford Turnpike (Rt. 20) on Saturday at around 4:30 PM. They soon discovered one vehicle involved in the crash was reported stolen at knifepoint at around 1 AM in Waterbury, Connecticut. Police arrested the driver, who provided several false names to officers.
Officers discovered a large steak knife and property of the vehicle theft victim inside the vehicle.
The fingerprints of the man arrested enabled police to identify him at Urelio de Jesus Galvez, 19, of Lawrence. He faces charges of:
- Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Receiving a Stolen Credit Card
- False ID to Police Following Arrest
- Obstruction of Justice
- Fugitive from Justice
- Negligent Operation of a MV
- Marked Lanes Violation
