WORCESTER – The City of Worcester’s plan for a community garden at Green Hill Park was opened for contractor bids in January. The estimated cost of the project is $2.7 million.
The scope of the project, at 125 Greenhill Pkwy, the location of the former park headquarters, includes the installation of a pre-fabricated greenhouse measuring 30′ x 48′ and over 14 feet tall.
Other features include:
- community garden beds;
- hydrants;
- storage sheds;
- walkways;
- benches;
- lighting;
- information kiosk;
- chain link fencing; and
- parking and access drives.
The plans also call for shaded areas with picnic tables alongside the garden area. The plans show the greenhouse, garden, and seating area spanning an area of around 200 feet by 130 feet.
Bids for the project are being accepted through Feb. 8 at 10 AM.
