Troopers with the Massachusetts State Police conducted a traffic stop on Friday, July 10, that left a man from Brooklyn, NY facing firearms related charges.
Troopers on patrol on I-84 witnessed a Honda driving erratically on the eastbound side and engaged in a traffic stop in Sturbridge just before 9 AM.
The driver, Miquel Henriquez, 38, of Brooklyn, NY, did not have a valid license to operate a vehicle and was arrested.
Troopers conducting an inventory of the contents of the vehicle located a loaded Hi-Point 9mm pistol with 19 rounds of ammunition. The firearm also had the serial number filed off.
Henriquez is also on probation for a criminal incident that occurred in May.
Henriquez is facing the following charges:
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm
- Receiving Firearm with Defaced Serial Number
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without FID Card
- Marked Lanes Violation
Bail was set at $1,040.
