WORCESTER – A local man was sentenced to over seven years in federal prison for child pornography charges on Wednesday.

A federal district court judge sentenced Jesse Laino, 26, of Auburn, to 88 months in prison and five years of supervised release after he plead guilty to distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography on April 6.

Federal prosecutors say that Laino used the mobile app Kik to upload and distribute images of sexual abuse material in May 2019. Authorities searched Laino’s residence in June 2020 and located two phones and a laptop computer containing the material. He also used a cloud storage service and shared links using social media.

Prosecutors also say that records from social media show that Laino participated in hundreds of chats and distributed over 1,700 images of his material, , including images of infants and toddlers being sexually abused, from January 2019 to July 2020.
