WORCESTER – A long line has formed around Worcester’s Registry of Motor Vehicles branch on Wednesday.
MassDOT announced that only seven branches across the state — including Worcester — would be open until further notice.
The long line in downtown Worcester is a result of MassDOT implementing guidelines to combat the spread of COVID-19. One of the guidelines is only allowing 10 customers in an RMV branch at a time.
Additionally, there are 25 RMV employees working at each branch each day.
There are 30 RMV locations in the state, and the seven MassDOT chose to open were prioritized by availability, accessibility and facility size.
The RMV is open normal hours 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday
