WEBSTER – A Webster Police officer saw a vehicle speeding on East Main St. and pulled the vehicle over on I-395, leading to the arrest of Shrewsbury man on drug charges on Friday, November 20.

When the office approached the rental vehicle at about 1:30 AM, with a driver and four passengers, he smelled burnt marijuana. There also appeared to be several containers of marijuana on the floor of the vehicle.

While the driver, Mark Kabundi, 20, of Shrewsbury, was looking for his driver’s license, he picked up a bag containing a pill bottle.

The bottle had black marks on it and no identifying information. It contained several capsules believed to be Adderall.

A Trooper from the Massachusetts State Police arrived to assist, who requested a drug sniffing canine dispatched to the scene.

After being removed from the vehicle, one passenger asked for a coat from the trunk. When the officer opened the door to pull the trunk level, the officer saw a lone pile on the floor. The pill was identified as MDMA.

Upon a search of the vehicle, a scale with marijuana residue was also located.

In the trunk were 36 packages labeled “Jungle Boys” brand, a marijuana dispensary in Los Angeles. While the packages were counterfeit, the packages contained marijuana.

Kabundi was arrested and faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Class D Substance with the Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of a Class B Substance (MDMA and Adderall)
