Man Arrested for Larceny, Child Endangerment in Southbridge

SOUTHBRIDGE – Police dispatched to the Gulf gas station on East Main St. on Monday, June 14, in response to a report of larceny around 12:20 PM.

According to the Southbridge Police Department, the cashier reported that while she was in the back room of the store, a white man wearing a black and white camouflage sweatshirt entered the small building with the cash register. The cashier said the man removed cash and several packs of cigarettes before fleeing the store.

During a search of the area, an officer stopped a speeding vehicle on Mechanic St. As officers approached the vehicle, they saw a male in the passenger seat removing a black & white camouflage sweat shirt.

Police identified the man as Alec Ramsey, 24, of Spencer, in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Police did not provide the name of the woman driving the vehicle. An infant was in the rear seat of the vehicle.

During the investigation, police located cash and packages of cigarettes believed to be stolen from the gas station.

Ramsey faces charges of:

  • Breaking and Entering Into a Building During the Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Larceny from a Building
  • Reckless Endangerment of a Child
