WORCESTER – A Worcester County Grand Jury has indicted two men or murder in the fatal shooting of Michael Parks ,62, of Fitchburg, on July 28. The indictments were handed down on Friday and announced by the Worcester County District Attorney’s office on Monday.
Thomas Martin, 45, of Fitchburg, and Christian Collins, 37, of Worcester, face indictments for murder, home invasion, armed assault in a dwelling, assault with a
dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm without an FID card. Martin faces additional charges for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Arraignment for both men took place on Aug. 4 in Fitchburg District Court. Both men were held without bail. The indictments move the case to Worcester Superior Court. A date for arraignment in Worcester was not announced.
Fitchburg Police responded to a home on Marshall Street at around 9:25 PM on July 28. Officer discovered Parks there, who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting by Fitchburg and Massachusetts State Police led to the arrest of Martin and Collins.
