MILFORD – Police in Milford responded to a call Sunday evening that resulted in the death of 39-year-old Milford man.
Around 8:30 PM on Sunday, Milford Police were dispatched to a disturbance call on Glines Ave.
The suspect in the disturbance, 39-year-old Philip Castonguay III of Milford, was in possession of a metal pipe while police were on the scene.
According to police, Castonguay charged at an officer during the incident. The officer shot Castonguay.
First responders transported Castonguay to Milford Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The officer did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
The officer is on administrative leave pending an investigation. The investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police Detectives, the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the Milford Police Department.
