WORCESTER – Police and fire personnel responded to an apartment complex on Mill Street just after 10:30 AM on Friday after a pallet of roofing material fell through the roof and down three stories into the building’s basement.

According to the Worcester Fire Department, all 32 units at the Pond View apartment homes at 267 Mill St. were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The complex is located directly behind Mill Street Motors.

The roof was being replaced when the pallet fell through. Multiple units were destroyed and the balconies of units on three floors were all buckled because of the weight of the roofing materials.

Police were still at the scene at 1 PM. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
