WORCESTER – The new Municipal Service Center [MSC] on Main Street in Worcester — commonly referred to as the “mini City Hall” — is now opening next month.

The MSC is a partnership between the City of Worcester and MassDevelopment and is located at 801 Main St. [between Oread St. and Benefit St.].

The MSC was planned to open at the end of this month, but due to unforeseeable circumstances, the City and MassDevelopment pushed the date back to March.
The City has confirmed that a ribbon cutting will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, March 10.

Here’s how the MSC will work:

  • A City of Worcester will employee will be staffed at the MSC from 12 PM to 7 PM Monday thru Friday.
  • A full-time U.S. Census Bureau representative will be on-site
  • A part-time MassDevelopment clerk will be on-ssite
  • The location will offer voter registration, tax payment, census completion and residents can obtain a copy of their birth certificate.
  • The service center will also feature applications and permits like dog licenses, library cards, special event applications, park permits, Doing Business As [DBAs] and City Council petitions.
  • The Worcester Police Department will have office space at the MSC.

Additional local and state services that are planned to be provided at the MSC include WIC, MassHealth, Flu Clinics, Quality of Life Team assistance, Veterans Services, First-Time Homebuyer resources, and others.
