Most Wanted Fugitive Arrested in West Brookfield

One of the most wanted fugitives on the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Most Wanted list was captured late this morning in West Brookfield.

As ThisWeekInWorcester.com reported, 37-year-old Jesse Ouellet was added to the MSP Most Wanted list in November. He was wanted in connection with a shooting in April on Ward Street in Worcester.

The investigation by the Worcester Police Department recently indicated that Ouellet may have been in hiding in West Brookfield. MSP’s Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) confirmed the address, leading to today’s arrest.

Ouellet was arrested at a home on Gilbert Rd. in West Brookfield at about 11:15 AM today. The arrest was made by a team that included MSP Troopers, Deputy Marshals and local officers.

Police alleged Ouellet shot a man in the stomach after an altercation outside a store on Ward Street. A bystanding walking by was also struck by a stray bullet. Both individuals survived the shooting.
