WORCESTER – The Office of Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early Jr. announced an arrest in the death of Jeremiah Oliver in 2013.

The body of Oliver, who was 5-years-old at the time of his death, was found near I-190 in Sterling in April 2014. He had been missing for around three months when his body was discovered. The family lived in Fitchburg.

Albert Sierra Jr., 32, was arrested and faces charges of murder and disinterring of a body in connection with the death of Oliver. A Worcester County Grand Jury returned an indictment for the charges on Wednesday.

Sierra was in a relationship with Oliver’s mother at the time of his death. Since 2013, Sierra has faced charges related to abusing the boy’s mother and siblings.

Sierra is expected in court for arraignment on Thursday.
