Two Arrested for Shooting Death of Juvenile in Worcester

WORCESTER – Police arrested two individuals in connection with a shooting that left a teen male dead.

Police responded to report of gunshots near Shannon Street shortly after 3 AM on Feb. 12. Police did not find a victim at the scene, but discovered a 17-year-old teen at a local hospital who sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead.

In the evening on Friday, Feb. 23, police in Worcester, with assistance from the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), arrested two men in connection with the shooting.

Kidam Oquendo, 21, of Worcester, faces charges of:

  • Armed Assault to Murder;
  • Attempted Assault and Battery by Firearm;
  • Possession of a Firearm with no License to Carry;
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card;
  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling; and
  • Possession of a Firearm during a Felony.

Alexis Medeiros, 18, of Gardner, faces charges of Accessory After the Fact and Obstruction of Justice.
