PA Man Arrested by State Police on Rt. 290 for Guns, Drugs

AUBURN – A Massachusetts State Police traffic stop on Rt. 290 in Auburn on Friday, June 18, led to an arrest on drug and firearms charges for an out-of-state resident.

A Trooper stopped a white Ford Ranger around 4:30 AM near Exit 11 on Rt. 290 after seeing the vehicle drift between several lanes of travel.

The Trooper identified the driver as Jeremiah Hinderlitter, 32, of Cooksburg, PA. After the Trooper obtained the driver’s license and registration, he returned to the cruiser for an RMV inquiry.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, while the Trooper was conducting the RMV search, he saw Hinderlitter lean and reach toward the center of the truck.

The Trooper quickly exited the cruiser and ordered Hinderlitter. The Trooper also observed two small bags. One he believed contained Crystal Meth and the other Cocaine.

During a search of the vehicle, the Trooper also located a loaded Ruger 9mm pistol and a Rock Island Armory Model 200 pistol.

Hinderlitter faces charges of:

  • Illegal Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition without FID Card
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
  • Possession of a Class B Substance
  • Failure to Signal; and
  • Marked Lanes Violation
