BOSTON – A Federal judge at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in Boston sentenced a man on charges of sexually exploiting 13 children.

Philip Raymond, 65, of Marlborough, received a sentence of 60 years in federal prison on 13 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Raymond pleaded guilty on March 30, after being arrested and charged in October 2020. He has been in federal custody since his arrest.

United States Attorney Rachael Rollins said that Raymond exploited 13 young, defenseless children known to him and grossly took advantage of the trust the victims and their families placed in him.

Over a period of around eight years, from 2004 to 2012, Raymond produced or attempted to produce child pornography involving 13 children. Each were friends of his own child.

Federal prosecutors say that law enforcement executed a search of Raymond’s home in 2019, which resulted in the seizure of various digital devices containing video showing he filmed his sexual abuse of two of those children. It also showed that Raymond set up a recording device in both his child’s room and in the bathroom of his home. Raymond recorded 13 different children.

Raymond also faces charges in Middlesex District Court for child rape and possession of other child pornography.
