BOSTON – The office of the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts announced today a grand jury indicted a local man for allegedly attempting to use a stolen identity to apply for a United States passport. The man had previously been deported in August 2002
Rohan Andrew Brown, 56, of Worcester, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Worcester on charges of illegal reentry of a removed alien, passport fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
The charges provide for the following sentences:
- Illegal reentry of a removed alien: up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
- Passport fraud: up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
- Aggravated identity theft; mandatory sentence of two years in prison to be served consecutive to any other sentence imposed.
