WEST BOYLSTON – RT. 12 Pickle, Worcester County’s county’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, is set to open on January 25th in the Wachusett Shopping Plaza, at 184 West Boylston Street in West Boylston.
The facility features eight new courts and is designed to accommodate a variety of activities, including open play, clinics, lessons, leagues, private court rental, private events, tournaments, and senior programs. The facility aims to attract local colleges, universities, and businesses for participation.
Minsk says he was inspired to create the facility after his own experience as an avid pickleball player concerned about playing options during the Northeast’s winter months. With a background in entrepreneurial sales, Minsk believes this startup has a solid foundation in West Boylston.
The Association of Pickleball Professionals says pickleball is America’s fastest-growing sport. His facility will enable play throughout the year.
The facility is currently offering memberships online, featuring special incentives for early sign-ups. RT. 12 Pickle is also open to one-time and first-time players. On-site amenities will include snacks, soft drinks, beer, and hard seltzers, enhancing the overall experience for players and visitors.
“West Boylston and Worcester County have a growing base of businesses, colleges and families who are looking for the amenities you would otherwise have to drive to in other areas. We are looking forward to getting to know our neighbors here, and helping create a great community of pickleballers at RT. 12 Pickle when it opens,” said Minsk.
Memberships for Rt. 12 Pickle are available online with enhanced early enrollee perks, but a membership is not required to play at the facility.
