SHREWSBURY – Through multiple fundraisers, a local Shrewsbury group has been able to raise more than $40,000 in individual donations to support the efforts of doctors, nurses, first responders, and others in the battle against the spread of COVID-19.

According to organizer Andrea Castinetti of Shrewsbury, the group — Coronavirus Quarantine – Who Needs Assistance —  has donated more than 3,500 N95 masks to local hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

“Now we are making COVID-19 kits for individual doctors and nurses with their own personal supplies,” Castinetti told ThisWeekinWorcester.com. “We’ve been sending food nightly to the hospitals and we have an Amazon wish-list for snacks. We received 74 boxes of donations on the first day.”
