22-Year-Old Man Charged with Murder in Fitchburg Stabbing

Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early Jr.’s office announced on Monday, April 4, the filing of murder charges in the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Gadiel Maria in Fitchburg on March 18.

Jose Ramos Solis, 22, of Fitchburg, appeared in Fitchburg District Court on Monday for arraignment on the murder charge. The judge ordered Solis held without bail and due back in court on May 17.

Solis has been in custody since a March 23 arraignment on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Early’s office dropped that charge Monday after the filing of the murder charge.
