Southbridge Man Arrested for Cocaine Sent by Mail

Update 07-08-2020: A search warrant later executed on Rivera’s apartment revealed a firearm. Charges expected to follow.

 

SOUTHBRIDGE – Revel Rivera, 42, of Southbridge, is facing federal charges for attempted possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Rivera’s arrest came after federal agents intercepted a package sent by mail to his residence. After discovering the one kilogram of cocaine, agents resealed the package and delivered it to Rivera’s residence.

After Rivera took the package into his custody agents arrested him.

According to federal sentencing guidelines, Rivera faces between five and 40 years in prison.
