WORCESTER – The Worcester City Council’s Veterans’ Memorials, Parks and Recreation subcommittee will meet Monday to discuss the jet ski ban at Indian Lake.

The ban on personal watercraft on the lake has been in place since Aug. 18, 2021 and will expire on Sept. 30.

Earlier this month, the City Council unanimously supported an order from District 2 city councilor Candy Mero-Carlson requesting acting City Manager Eric Batista to ask city solicitor Michael Traynor to work with the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Environment’s Division of Law Enforcement to create an ordinance that places a moratorium on personal watercraft and jet ski use on Indian Lake for nonresidents, residents who don’t have property rights on the lake and residents who don’t occupy property around the lake.

Mero-Carlson also requested the City to consider a nonresidential ban of personal watercraft and jet ski use.

The city council subcommittee will meet at 5 PM on Aug. 29. To join the meeting via Zoom, click here. To call into the meeting, dial (929) 205-6099 and use access code 969 5192 9457.
