WORCESTER – Families in Worcester received a message at around noon today informing them of a controlled substance and bullets found in the possession of a student at Worcester Technical High School today. The message said that no weapon was found.
The message, which indicated it was from Worcester Technical High School Principal Drew Weymouth, said staff identified a student “exhibiting unusual behavior” at around 11 AM on Friday. A subsequent search of the student’s backpack led to the discovery of the controlled substance and bullets.
The parents of the students and the Worcester Police Department was informed of the incident.

Hello Worcester Technical High School Community.
This is Principal Drew Weymouth messaging to inform you about an incident that occurred today.
At about 11:00am this morning, a student at school was exhibiting unusual behavior as identified by staff. Administration conducted a search of the student’s backpack and discovered a controlled substance and bullets. Thankfully, no weapon was found.
We have spoken with the students parents and also the Worcester Police
Department was called and are investigating the incident. We are also receiving assistance from the Worcester Public Schools Director of Safety and Director of Positive Youth Development.The physical and mental safety and well being of our students and staff is
always our top priority. If you have any concerns about safety, please let us
