We continue to see market activity increasing, and homes going under-agreement in record time. This week we see 40+ new listings, for Single Family Homes and Condominiums, more than double the number from last week! This is a great indicator of a strong early summer market, as many homebuyers and sellers sit on the sidelines waiting for inventory and some sense of a market “kick-off.” Let’s be honest, we’ve basically skipped spring, it just snowed again albeit barely so we’re looking at the prospect of an Early Summer market.

When viewing homes in days following such an aggressive storm be sure to keep a keen eye out for water penetration and damage. High winds can cause roofing “shingle lift” and drive water inward, and while this doesn’t necessarily mean the roof is bad you’ll want to keep an eye out. I was in a home today that actually had water damage along an inside wall due to the storm, and the homeowners of nearly 15 years had never had water intrusion.
