WORCESTER – A teen arrested for a stolen vehicle is also under investigation by Worcester Police in connection to an alleged kidnapping attempt.

Police received a report of a white BMW X5 SUV that was left running in a parking lot on Tobias Boland Way and stolen on Sunday, Oct. 8, at around 2:45 AM. According to the Worcester Police Department, it has received several reports that included a white BMW SUV over the last several days.

On Thursday, Oct. 12, police arrived at Greenbriar Lane after a report just before 5 AM. A female reported a white SUV approached her while she was on her morning walk. A male inside the vehicle told her to get in a vehicle. The woman fled into a nearby yard and the vehicle drove away.

A second call, this time from Winifred Avenue, came in shortly thereafter. There, a man reported a white BMW SUV with two males inside pulled up behind him. One person inside demanded money from the man. He also said he fled, hiding in a nearby yard until the vehicle drove away.

Police received information that the stolen vehicle was parked on Clegg St. by a student who walked from there to South High Community School. Police located the vehicle and had it towed. Police did not specify if the vehicle was located on Thursday or Friday.

After classes ended, a 16-year-old boy approached officers, who were in street clothes, and indicated he was looking for a white SUV. After discovering the teen in possession of the key for the stolen SUV, he was arrested on charges of Receiving a Stolen Vehicle.

The teen’s connection to the reports on Thursday are under investigation, according to police.
